In partnership with Nova Southeastern University and Carlos Albizu University, predoctoral practicum students are able to provide individual therapy and group therapy as well as to conduct psychological evaluations. Clinicians must have completed at least 12 months of direct clinical service prior to the rotation at CORTE.
The CORTE program is a member of the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC) and offers three, 12-month internship positions with a July 1 start date. The training experience at CORTE is robust and focuses on professional preparation and training in forensic psychology. Interns will provide a variety of therapeutic and evaluative services in a supportive environment. Upon successful completion of a predoctoral internship and conferral of a doctoral degree in clinical psychology, the residency program provides advanced training in forensic psychology involving complex cases as well as parental fitness evaluations. Residents will also have the opportunity to supervise a predoctoral level clinician. The full-time position typically starts in late August and lasts 12 months with opportunities to continue employment following licensure.
Registered Mental Health Internship
An internship for registered mental health clinicians is offered on a part-time or full-time basis and supervision is provided by clinicians who are approved by the Florida Department of Health. Interns perform a variety of therapeutic services including individual, family and couples therapy as well as group therapy. Brief assessments and intakes are also conducted on a routine basis by the intern.
